Local Missions

United Methodist Women (UMW)
The purpose of the United
Methodist Women
is to know God, to experience freedom as whole persons
through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative,
supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of
missions through participation in the global
ministries of the church. Chamblee is proud to host 5
Circles:
Alma North - Meets
1st Monday night of each month in home of members at
6:30 p.m. Circle of Friendship - Meets in members' homes on the 2nd Thursday of each month at
7:30 p.m. Dora Jones -
Meets at 10:30 a.m. on the 2nd
Tuesday of each month in Room 110 at church.
Fannie Tapp- Meets 2nd Tuesday of each month
in homes of members at 9:45 a.m.
Jessie Wallace
- Meets the 2nd Tuesday of each
month in homes of members at 7:30 p.m.
Recreation/Service
Activities:
Boy Scouts of America,
Troop #268
Meets each Monday night from
7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in our Scout Hut, located
behind the Activities Building. This troop was formed on
August 10, 1948 and has been active at Chamblee First
UMC during all those years.
The
current Scoutmaster is Scott Filipek.
Cub Scout Pack #268
Meets each Tuesday night from 7:00 -8:00 p.m. in
the Scout Hut. The current Cubmaster is
Mike Steele.
Girl Scouts of America
Junior Girl Scouts meet on the 3rd
Friday of each month, February - May, at the church in
the Fellowship Hall from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.
Cadet Girl Scouts meet Friday
nights twice a month in the Youth Lounge at the
church for fun and service.
Events are planned off-campus including camping,
cookie sales and a Family Partnership annual
fundraising dinner.
