Children's Programs


Our children's ministry information.


Sunday Morning

All visitors are asked to register their children at the appropriate room for saftey issues. 

8:45am Worship Service:

Child care available at the 8:45am Worship Service or the children are welcome to sit with parents.  After a children's sermon, parents are given the opportunity walk their children to a nursery provide for children 2 months through 5 years old in Out Building A.

Sunday School  9:45 am

Sunday School classes for children ages 2 months to 5th grade. 

Children 2 months thru 2nd grade will meet in the Out Buildings for the summer. 

·         2 months- 2 years will meet in Out Building A

·         2 years-5 years (Potty Trained) will meet in Out Building B

·         Kindergarten – 2nd grade will meet in Out Building C

Children 3rd thru 5th grade will meet at the Scout Hut behind the Activity Building for a special summer session.  This special session is taught by parents of the children and involves learning about Creation using the wonderful land resources here at Chamblee First.  Children are asked to wear play shoes for this time.

Sunday Service 11:00 am

Child care is open to children 2 months through 5 years old.  Children are welcome to sit with their parents in the sanctuary for the start of worship.  After the children's sermon, parents are given the opportunity to walk with their child to the appropriate age level Out Building and then return for the service.  Ushers and child care staff are available to assist.  Parents can then pick up the child after service.

Children’s Worship:

Following the Children’s Sermon in the 11am Worship Service, children, Kindergarten through 2nd grade, are invited to attend their own worship time held in Out
Building C

Nursery:

Staffed with loving teachers, this program is offered for children 6 weeks old through age 3. The Nursery is open during Adult Sunday School, Worship Service, Wednesday night suppers and Special Events.

Chamblee Methodist Kindergarten

Ages 2-5 year old.

Celebrating over 50 years of service, this kindergarten program is open to all families.  Classes are available for children ages 2 years -5 years old. 

The Kindergarten has space in the pre-K program for the '10-'11 school year for any child who will be 4 years old by September 1st.  For more information, contact the director, Allison Spangler, at 770-457-2527.

Parents Morning Out

Ages 9 -24 months.

Parents Morning Out is a church ministry that is provided to all families with children ages 9 months to 24 months old.

PMO classes run during school year from September through May.  Classes are Tuesday-Friday, from 9am-12pm.  The age of your child determines the class and day they may attend.

Currently there are openings for the Fall for 9 to 18 month year olds.

Wednesday Night Choir and Fellowship

*Open to any child age 4years old through 5th grade.

Choir and Fellowship is an hour program that follows Wednesday Night Suppers.  At 6:30pm children are invited to meet upstairs where they take turns being in either choir or fellowship. 

*Held fall through spring only

Acolytes

Children 3rd grade and up are trained to be a traditional part of the worship service by lighting and extinguishing the candles and participating in the offering.
