Tench,
Director of Children’s Programs
Chris
grew up in N. Manchester, Indiana. Her life
journey brought her to Georgia and she
loves it
here! Chris and her husband, David, have lived
in the Huntley Hills Neighborhood for 15
years. They
have two children, Chance who is 14 years old
and Jared who is 12 years old. While
her children
grew, Chris also grew with them. She became the
Neighborhood Playgroup Coordinator,
PTA Fundraising
Chairman, and finally started a career in a
Parents Morning Out Program. Chris h
as been a Young
Children’s Educator for 10 years. She is
starting her 9 ninth year here in the
Chamblee
Methodist Parents Morning Out Program. You may
see her around the neighborhood
walking
the family dog or jogging. She also enjoys
taking pictures and scrapbooking.

PARENT'S MORNING OUT Click here for details
Parent's Morning Out
is an opportunity for parents to provide their toddlers with a
place to learn and socialize for one of two mornings a week. Children must be between the ages of 9 months and 24 months as
of September 1. The school year is from September to May and
the hours are from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Thursday or
Friday (depending on age.) The cost is $70.00 a month for
one day a week.
Registration for the following year is in February. For more

Children
in Kindergarten
through 5th grade are invited to experience Sunday School like never before. Each will become part of the newest addition of Chamblee First UMC as they become active at the W.o.R.M., our nickname for the Workshop Rotation Model. W.o.R.M. is a new model of Sunday School that incorporates the seven ways in which we all learn: Linguistic/verbal,
Logical- Mathematical, Spatial, Bodily-Kinesthetic,
Musical,
Interpersonal/relational, and
Intrapersonal/ introspective. Children "rotate" through the workshops
on a weekly basis, hearing and rehearing God's story in a manner that will reach
each
of the seven intelligence levels. Our goal is not just to fill each child with information, but to bring about a transformation of the heart and mind that is centered on Jesus Christ.
Each Sunday, the children pick up their official Passports at the Disciples' Discovery Travel Agency and head for their age group's special "destination" of the week.
Destinations such as:
THE ART ARK ~ for a special art project
THE JOYFUL NOISE ~ for a special morning devoted to music and movement
THE ABUNDANT LIFE THEATER ~ for some fresh popcorn and a special movie that allows the children to experience God's story
PARABLE PRODUCTIONS ~ where budding actors and puppeteers can experience God's story through drama and puppetry arts
THE KINGDOM TABERNACLE ~ enter as an
Old Testament scribe and experience the excitement of God's word.

HIS HANDS (missions emphasis.)
CHILDREN'S CHOIRS:
Youth Choir - (ages
grades 6-12) rehearses on Sunday in Room 210 from 12:30 -1:30
p.m., after the Youth lunch.
Cherub Choir
~ (ages K4 - 1st graders) rehearses
on Wednesdays in Room 210 from 6:30- 6:50 p.m.
Good News Singers ~
(grades 2 - 6th, 7th graders are welcome) rehearse on Wednesdays
from
6:55 - 7:30 p.m. also in Room 210. For information on

CHAMBLEE FIRST NURSERY
Our nursery is staffed with loving workers ready to nurture and interact with your children age 6 weeks
thru kindergartners. The nursery is open during all worship services, Wednesday night classes and Wednesday night choir practice,
as well as special occasions. Amanda
